Learn More About:

  • Cross Stitch

Designs are created on an even weave fabric called “Aida” using cotton thread and a stitch that looks like an “X”.

Counted Cross Stitch – Each symbol on the instructions chart represents a specific color “X” on the fabric. The stitcher counts the symbols from the chart and works cross stitches on the corresponding squares on the fabric.

Stamped Cross Stitch – Designs are stitched on a fabric that is printed with X’s. The instruction chart provides symbols that tell the stitcher which thread color to place and where to place them on the fabric.

  • Embroidery

Designs are stitched with cotton thread or wool yarn on a printed fabric.

There is no “signature” stitch in embroidery. Part of the appeal of this craft is the wide variety of stitches that can be used. These stitches create texture and dimension.

The instruction chart explains which color yarn or thread and which stitch to use to fill in areas or cover lines on the fabric.

Completed designs can be finished as pictures, pillows, ornaments, or stockings.

  • Needlepoint

Designs are created on canvas printed in full color using cotton thread and/or wool or acrylic yarn and a Continental or Basketweave Stitch.

The instruction chart indicates which color yarn or thread is used to fill in the colors printed on the canvas; similar to paint-by-number but with a needle and thread.

Additional stitches, called topstitching, may be added to embellish the design. Completed designs can be finished as pictures, pillows, ornaments, or stockings.

  • Needle Felting

Designs are “stitched” with a barbed needle and raw wool fiber called roving. Flat pieces or 3D figures can be created.

By repeatedly “punching” the roving with the barbed needle, the fibers of the roving are meshed together. This allows you to sculpt the roving into different shapes.

In addition to kits, we produce an open stock program of wool roving, flat felt, wool embellishments, tools, and accessories.

  • Punch Needle

Designs are done with either wool yarn or cotton thread on a printed fabric. Instructions include a chart and key as well as lots of useful tips and techniques.

The punch needle tool is sold separately because the tool can be used for multiple kits.

Punch Needle designs are quick and easy to complete and provide a nice alternative to more traditional needle crafts.

  • Latch Hook

Latch hook is a craft that is simple and relaxing and can be enjoyed by almost anyone.

Designs are hooked in vibrant colors of acrylic yarn on a full-color printed canvas – no counting necessary!

Kids kits are 12" x 12"; adult kits are 12" x 12" or 16" x 16". The latch hook tool is sold separately because the tool can be used for multiple kits.
